Bring on 2013!

It’s been almost a year since I started this blog and I haven’t done a single thing with it since then.  Nothing like a new year to help you get back into those things you started and never finished.

2013 is going to be a good year! I can just tell. Lots of stuff going on at the Harding Homestead:

1. Whole30 – Hubs and I are starting our first Whole30 on January 1. If you have never heard of Whole30, then head on over to www.whole9life.com or pick up the book It Starts With Food by Dallas and Melissa Hartwig. Subsequent posts will be all about our progress so stay tuned.

2. Spending fast – This is something Hubs and I typically do in January.

3. New budgeting focus – While Hubs and I have been on a budget since we got married a little over 2 years ago, I have a renewed intensity to make it even more awesome and get us out of some of our debt.  I’ve been looking up different options for the past couple days but haven’t found anything that I think will fit our needs. We had been using www.mint.com since we got married but that has become too frustrating so we are going to try something different.  I think I might do something with a binder/tabs and envelopes. It’s a work in progress.

4. Reading fast – This is something I should have done probably a year ago.  Starting January 1 I will only be reading the Bible. When I want to read, that’s what I’ll pick up. Free time? Bible it is! I’ve felt God tapping me on the shoulder about this but have ignored Him because I absolutely love reading.  Then our pastor gave a sermon asking the congregation, “What do you love more than Jesus?”  Tap. Tap. Tap.  Alright Alright. I get the hint!  I’ve already caught myself trying to make excuses and find loopholes in the plan.  I don’t know how long it’s going to be for, I’ll keep you posted.
